FEMA state disaster information
Centers for Medicare & Medicaid Services has rescinded the Emergency/Disaster Special Election Period (SEP) change that was scheduled to go into effect April 1, 2025. This means enrollments through the Emergency/Disaster SEP can continue to be submitted by an agent directly to UnitedHealthcare and will not need to redirect clients to 1-800-Medicare.
The Federal Emergency Management Agency (FEMA) may have declared a weather-related emergency or major disaster in your state. Medicare beneficiaries affected may be eligible for a Special Election Period (SEP). For affected areas and SEP dates, click on the tracker below.
